At age 44, Hubert Marcoux, a professional businessman living Montreal, wanted more from his ordinary and routine life. What started as a simple vacation to escape the cold weather in Quebec turned into a passionate sailing adventure that lasted 18 years.
Hubert Marcoux was born February 12,1941 in Charlo, on the Baie des Chaleur in New Brunswick, Canada. Following a sailing trip around the world that lasted 18 years and took two sailboats, he started giving conferences after his arrival in Halifax in 2003. He soon realized that a book was needed.

He spent all of 2005 writing, first the French version Mon tour du monde en 18 ans then the English version Around the world in 18 years.
The book contains 296 pages 8 of which are of colour photos and there are many black and white photos and charts throughtout the book to facilitate the reading of the text.

Hubert is a magician. He performs his magic with his hands as with his words. He captivates us with his tales just as he captivated the Kuna indians in the San Blas islands.”Serge St-Martin,
